Writing music is about communication!

I compose works of musical-theater and sacred music. I also have an interest in computer generated composition and music. In the Minneapolis, MN area I have had works performed at the Baslica of Saint Mary, The Loring Playhouse, the Nautilus Rough Cuts Series, and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. My computer music has been presented at the International Computer Music Conference and the Sonic Circuit Series.

I have degrees in music from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Illinois at Champaign / Urbana as well as a degree in computer science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. During my student days I held positions at the Eastman Computer Music Center and the UIUC Computer Music Project. I've also studied with Libby Larsen.

As a Computer Software Professional, I've worked for Cray Research, Inc. and Silicon Graphics, Inc. I currently work as a Java/SQL programmer in Blaine, MN.

Thanks Chris, as with all my music, I only steal from the best.

"My Blue Heaven..." is the breather.

Yea, I know there has to be others with a ragtime tune out there. Hopefully we can flush them out.

Hey Chris. I didn't get a chance to start the Ragtime thread and I am heading out of town for a few days. I will get to it when I get back...

Yes, it's true. Csound does have a very active community and is still being actively developed.

Nice ragtime number. I was thinking of putting one up too. We could make it a callout for all ragtime numbers.

What do you think?

Hey Chris, I was checking out your tunes awhile back. They sound great, especially "Blessed".

Thanks for the props, Chris! Yeah... I'm a sucker for waltzes; I think it's my Sicilian blood. I enjoyed your music, too! Actually listened to much via your website about 4 days ago. I'm listening again to 'Blessed are the Merciful'; just beautiful...

I've just added a new song: Alleluia. The idea of sacred music is definitely not new, but I want to experiment a bit with creating soundscapes based on this idea. I have a blog entry with some more thoughts on that here.
