Say hi to Ponte for me. Coffee sounds good, it's silly to not get together now that we live spitting distance apart.

So, I'm late to the thread. But here's what's up with me. Finishing up a horror short that has taken waaay too long to finish. So I'm in final foley passes, ADR tweaks and general mix polishing. Used Matt's Whoosh Library for the fight scenes. I a...

Good thing to keep in mind, Matt. Thanks for sharing the story. Since I tend to record some high-profile folks from time to time, that's important advice.

I have a small pickup session tomorrow and I was suppose to fly into the city to pick up my "head in a box" micing system but I just couldn't squeeze it in.

Do you still have it?

Hi Joe,

sounds like you have a lot of similarities with me. I worked on 2 films this year as a programmer and also the score for Lincoln Heights on the ABC family channel. I write a ton of music in most styles for a catalog that licenses incredibly well. Just got the Protools 8 software and it's pretty nice. I'm a Nuendo guy but always have to deliver sessions in PT so I may go for the HD this coming year. I can't run my huge midi sessions on LE just won't work. Happy Holiday's !!!

How do you record the hunk of marble? Do you use mics or surface pickups or both?

The most unusual percussion instrument I ever used was a big cardboard box played with a ping-pong paddle.
