I Like the NNXT idea. You could even map velocity to different intensities/characteristics of similar elements if you wanted to take the time.
I typically use Pro Tools for my sound design. When I do this I'll create a directory for like sounds, ...
I've always thought the sound quality of Melodyne was superior to Auto Tune. I also like the interface better. Much easier to use, much more intuitive. I've only used the lite version of Waves Tune so I can't really comment on it's functionality. ...
About 6 years ago I tracked vocals for my buddies album. He had a Manley dual mono pre amp and I remember being blown away by it. He is always talking about it.
Not sure of the price.
Right! I thought I'd get a bunch of replies...
Regardless, I think I've settled on an Empirical Labs Mike-E Channel strip. Mic pre, comp, instrument in, for around my budget:

Wow, can't believe no one chimed in. I thought audio people loved talking about pre's!
I have a Mindprint which is a crazy looking 2 channel pre. It has instrument in and no compressor but a limiter.
It is a tube and I think I bought it for arou...
My budget is around $1500. I'm looking for a nice mic pre for my home studio. (For anybody following the Pro Tools discussions I sold my HD system and I'm about to buy an LE system!)

Things here are good. We are kind of hunkering down but we are still selling the bread and butter items. We are still updating that bowling game you worked on 100 years ago. It is a workhorse.
We are moving into gaming so that should be interesting.
We actually might be moving to that area so I think I will get a chance to pick up some Hot Dougs. I will hit you up for must haves when the time comes.
Some bot joined and spammed everybody. I booted them but there were a few leftovers.
Hows it going? Did you survive the massive shakeup?
I was just driving past Hot Dougs the other day and there was a line @2pm on a saturday. That place is amazing. Haven't eaten there yet though. But I digress....
I've known M.K. for a while now though the local industry (in a general sort of way). I don't know Granner but we have some mutual colleagues. As for the rest, I have worked with (and become friends with) many of them throughout the years.
